The SSTR-1-G Receiver is a project I started a couple of weeks ago after a time of feeling very uninspired. I needed a fun project to let loose and learn to appreciate the fun in modelling and texturing again. And I'm pleased with the results!
As a history buff, I appreciate an opportunity to learn more about the past and the numerous gadgets that have been used to navigate it.
Finding old tools such as this one makes a good opportunity to create a grimy prop with some fun historical easter eggs. I decided to include Tobacco cards, distributed until 1940, to give the prop more personality and a small nod to the human behind the machine.
